Cannot search for surnames

The description "Access and search the records" is misleading because I do not see anyway to search for a name.  I can only browse the records and even that shows the manifests and not an index of names.

This collection is only an index. It is arranged alphabetically by surname and then by given name. It is available at the following URL: New York, New York, Index to Passenger Lists, 1820-1846 
The ships passenger lists are in a seperate collection
