St Peter ad Vincula - extra-parochial?
An extra-parochial area is one that is outside any church/parish jurisdiction; it follows then that the standard technique for finding church baptism or marriage records is to search in neighbouring parishes - as is the advice offered in this instance.
However, having a chapel in an extra-parochial area is a contridiction to the definition of extra-parochial. If there was a chapel, there would be a curate and one would expect baptisms and marriages.
Did this happen in the chapel of St Peter ad Vincula?
I note that Phillimore records no deposited records; but the web site for the Tower indicates that chapel has its own "Chapel Archive" under the care of the current curate.
Does anyone know what is in the archive?
