This ancient parish (AP) was created before 1813. Church of England records began in 1653.
THORGANBY (St. Ellen), a parish, in the union of York, wapentake of Ouse and Derwent, E. riding of York, 9¾ miles (S. E.) from York. There is a place of worship for Wesleyans.
