THORNTHWAITE, a chapelry, in the parish of Hampsthwaite, union of Pateley-Bridge, Lower division of the wapentake of Claro, W. riding of York,4 miles (S.) from Pateley-Bridge; containing, with the hamlet of Padside, 281 inhabitants.[1]
