Question #1: Why are there no records from Walker County,Alabama?
Answer #1: The records from Walker County, Alabama were not indexed. Microfilm # 1533830 Item 1 contains the 1860 census for the Alabama counties of Marengo through Winston. You can Order the Microfilm and then view it at your local FamilySearch Center. Alternately, you can view the 1860 Census images for Walker County online at the Internet Archive, which also provides the images of the 1860 Walker County slave schedules.
Question #2: I am looking for an ancestor from Blount, Tennessee and can find no record of them. Are there pages missing in this area?
Answer #2: This is a collection we offer in partnership with Fold3. They provide the indexing. Pages 135-139 for the 16th District of Blount Tennessee are such poor images they were not indexed and are not available on their site. However, the images are viewable on the Heritage Quest site.
