Question #1: When performing a search for residents of Lawrence County, Tennessee and Lincoln County Tennessee using the “Search by Life Event: Residence” filter the message “No Results” is received. Are the records from these counties available?
Answer #1: The records from these two counties are available online at the browse point 004433240. The records for Lawrence County are found on images 97-114. The records for Lincoln County are found on images 115-166. The index mislabeled them as being from Dickson County. They are also available on film number 193685.
Question #2: When I type in Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio I get “no records found”. If I leave the county off and just type Dayton, Ohio I get several thousand results, but the residence is listed as Dayton, Miami, Ohio. Dayton is in Montgomery County. Why are these records mislabeled?
Answer #2: There was an error in the indexing of Dayton records. The residence should be Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio.
Question #3: When searching Muskingum, Ohio the indexed information does not link to the correct image. How can I find the correct image?
Answer #3: The simplest way to try to find the correct image is to use the arrows to move forward or backward a page or two. Typically images are only off by one or maybe two pages. If this doesn’t work, you can order the film listed on the indexed information page of the person you are searching for. See Answer #1 for links to order microfilm and finding your local Family History Center.
Question #4: When trying to view an image I find the record is not linked to the correct image. How can I view the image?
Answer #4: When you are on the record page, note the image number and page number. Compare that to the image that is linked to the record. You may need to scroll forward or backward a few images to find the correct page. In some cases there is no page number on the record detail page to reference, but you can still scroll forward or backward a few images and find the desired image.
