Daniel R. Jones, MA, AG, is an Accredited Genealogist specializing in Swiss and German research. His interest in genealogy began when as a youngster he would pore over his mother's Book of Remembrance, but his love affair with family history took off at the age of 13 when a Boy Scout merit badge brought him to a Family History Center at a local LDS chapel. Since 2003, Daniel has been employed full-time searching to identify the European and American ancestors of several high-profile clients.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BA degree in Family History and Genealogy from Brigham Young University, he has spent over a year cumulatively in dozens of European archives, concentrating but not limited to Germany and Switzerland, researching personal and clients' ancestral lines. He has completed coursework for a Masters of Arts degree from the University of Utah and is in process of researching eighteenth-century Swiss immigration to the Carolinas.
Daniel is fluent in Dutch, having lived two years in the Netherlands and Belgium, and in German, having studied three years at BYU and lived in Germany for four months. He is set to debut his first lecture on advanced German research at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy in January 2013.
