Help Page Edit

Ken ...  I see you found the terminology page and cleaned it up.  I would have probably remembered (maybe) 2 years from now !!   Thanks so much for jumping in and helping.  Welcome to the team.  Jane evancol 19:32, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

A Thank You

In the Amdoc # 2326162 is a thank you. I believe it is for you as the message(Email) was sent out in the time you signed up to work.  Thanks for me too.   Sandralpond 13:19, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

Langley, Norfolk

I have responded to your question about updating Norfolk content to reflect the FamilySearch Records online collections which have been published since the first publication of a proportion of parish registers in the Diocese of Norwich. As a local contributor familiar with the catalogue of the Norfolk holdings for over 30 years I can contribute some knowledge but you would need to question the management of FamilySearch how they intend to revise pages in wiki as they publish large amounts of material online. FamilySearch offers these under a "Records" tab at familysearch.org website but clearly parts of the organisation refer to Historical Records and before that came about some English records were online at Record Search. Perhaps in the rebranding of the FamilySearch site this confusion was overlooked but it is confusing for researchers and local contributors alike to encounter an apparent inability to manage change on the sites offered by FamilySearch. I have offered a revision to the best of my ability for Langley Church Records.

Anything you can discuss with your colleagues within FamilySearch to improve the present confusion would be most welcome.

Records template

Thank You for pointing out that a template now exists which brings issues to the attention of that arm of Family Search involved in Records collections.

In view of the lack of response for information about various collections in Kent I am reaching a point of ceasing further contributions to this project. The failure to identify content in England, Kent, Workhouse Records (FamilySearch Historical Records) in particular means that I cannot second guess which records I have handled for years may or may not be part of this collection and cannot therefore contribute my knowledge. {{Records question}} Since I am credited with research on Workhouses in the county elsewhere on the internet it is regrettable that your organisation has failed to respond to requests over a number of months. Welcome Back to the Wiki

Hi Ken,

Great to see you back. Forwarded the Help talk:Wiki Help up to the new supervisor, Giuseppe Martinengo. He is over all 11 Wikis'. Have a wonderful time. Sandralpond 04:50, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Thank you Sandra. Actually I am not back on the wiki.. We are serving our second full-time mission to Washington DC, whre we have been tasked to devbelop a series of lessons to help the missionaries and those they teach the basics of family history.  I have been quie frustrated in developing a path for beginning family historians to access wiki content for help to grow their family tree. As i have stated elsewhere, infomfation for beginners is mixing how to research family history with how to contribute to the wiki. Apparently the task we were working on 3 years ago got sidetracked. kk Ken Knight 17:20, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
