Hi Laurelroots! You'll be pleased to know that this morning I had a Family History Center patron who needed to know more about researching in Wisconsin, and Marinette county in particular. I added the stub template because major sections weren't complete (and I was actually doing a demo of the wiki at that moment!). I should have looked to see who was working on the page, and probably discussed it first. I made an assumption that the stub had been removed inadvertently. Having the stub template on identifies it as an article "under construction" or in need of contributors. It isn't a bad thing! There isn't a formal measure (yet) for removing a stub. But that's probably a good topic for a Community meeting. Lise 18:20, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi again, Laurelroots! I've worked a bit on the Libraries and Societies section of the Marinette County, WIsconsin article to provide additional explanations and information. One area that would be really helpful for readers is the Vital Records section. Have you been through the process of ordering records through the county clerk? It would be really helpful to have some kind of explanation of the process to help readers navigate the process successfully. Are you familiar with local churches and their records? Would you like to incorporate a County Info Box into the page? See any of the Illinois county pages for an example. I worked on the McHenry County, Illinois page and in an effort to fill out the page a bit, explored the public library collections. In the process, I discovered the incredible resources available through their public library. I suspect Marinette County has similar hidden gems... Please add whatever you can!
