Welcome to Utahnancy's talk page.

Hi, Nancy, We've had several discussions for the Utah Wiki project. We meet on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. We'd love to have you join us. Also, a table is being added to the top of the Washington County page (as well as all the other counties in Utah). Hopefully, it will help people. That is one of the results from those Wednesday meetings. There's more, and we'd surely like YOUR input and ideas! Thanks, AdkinsWH 21:23, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Nancy ... I saw the question you added to Davidmlam's User Page and wanted to let you know that your User Page is ready for you to create. The message "You have followed a link to a page that does not exist yet" is a little misleading ... it simply means it hasn't been created yet by the page owner. If you click on your User Page, under that message you will see the editor box, and you can just start typing in there just like you do on any page. Once you save any content the first time, that "does not exist yet" message will go away. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Nancy, we have deleted some of the user pages that were created, and only left the ones you will need. Jenson1

Welcome!

Welcome to the wiki! I saw the following questions on another page and noticed that you had some questions so thought I would bring them over here to your talk page and answer them if I could. It's exciting to see you coming into the wiki and doing so much already! janellv

Hello I'm Nancy

I have many questions (and some goals coming to my mind) that I'm sure I will eventually figure out but I'm writing them down;

What types of projects can be created? Is there a log on the Family Search site where users can hunt for their ancestors life story (articles) I'm a descendant of Daniel Henrie and I have many stories from my family members that I would like to share but don't know if these stories are already placed somewhere on the site. If, not I would like to start such an area. Users could put their family surname in a search box and find stories, articles on their family members, is this already available here? Does the editor tool have a spell check? I can't seem to find it

Answer:
1. Types of projects - any and all! Here's a list of current projects in the works in the wiki. What types of projects would you like to help with? We have two main types of projects - "content" projects to help build up the "how to research" in the wiki, and "support/maintenance" projects which help us keep the wiki running smoothly. What would you like to see?
2. I think Jenson1 answered this question for you already but no, the wiki isn't really a place to give personal information about your ancestors. It's more about giving research guidance to lead people to the records their ancestors are in.
3. No, no spell check, unfortunately. That would sure be nice though! Click on the orange Feedback link over on the right side of the screen and submit that as an idea of something you would like to see.
Let us know if you have any other questions. Also, the Contributor Help forums are a great place to go if you have questions not related to a specific page in the wiki.

Hi Nancy ...

We have a project to insert Infoboxes on the Texas counties and wanted to ask if you would be interested in helping. If you go to Davidson County, Tennessee the infobox is the one with the maps in it on the top middle of the page.  Just let me know.

Thanks,

Idaho

Something afoot in Idaho Something went wrong with Idaho State Historical Society site. Whatever affected Boise, Idaho page also affected the rest of the state, too. I fixed 2 dead links but for the rest, all led to ISHS site and something is wrong there, so am leaving deadlinks in for newspapers and directories. Dsammy 04:10, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Glad you found the link to Digital Archives. I got email from Idaho, informing me of new updated page for ISHS, but it's not complete. Guess a lot of work to do to go through all of counties and city pages of Idaho to change to new link. A question - are you aware of this link? http://history.idaho.gov/sites/default/files/uploads/ISHS%20Mircrofilm%20County%20Records.pdf (I haven't heard from Jimmy Parker, state moderator lately). Dsammy 20:31, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Found out today Jimmy Parker passed away yesterday, Friday Sept 9 in Bountiful, Utah. Now Idaho will be in need of a new moderator if there isn't one already. Dsammy 02:59, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Washington County History section

Hi, Nancy! I'm a project administrator for the Utah Wiki project. You signed up to do the Washington County History area (Under Quick Facts, not the one under "resources").

Will you look at the ones that Sister Olah has done for Wayne County and others? County History Task If you like them, she is willing to do the same for Washington County. What do you think?AdkinsWH 19:21, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

Thank you

Utahnancy We appreciate the discussions and decisions made by a community of experts and interested parties regarding headings on the county pages especially for New York and Illinois, We want to adopt many of those changes and adapt some specifically for Utah. Will you please review the page for FamilySearch Wiki:WikiProject Utah County Headings county headings in Utah and make comments on its discussion page? Some volunteers for WikiProject Utah have already begun adapting the county pages. Your great suggestions will be implemented later, and we need to move now to prepare for a big push in January. Making your comments on the discussion page will allow for transparency, progress and improvement. Headings on County Pages for Utah

Hi Utahnancy,

We appreciate the discussions and decisions made by a community of experts and interested parties regarding headings on the county pages especially for New York and Illinois, We want to adopt many of those changes and adapt some specifically for Utah. Will you please review the page for FamilySearch Wiki:WikiProject Utah County Headings county headings in Utah and make comments on its discussion page?

Some volunteers for WikiProject Utah have already begun adapting the county pages. Your great suggestions will be implemented later, and we need to move now to prepare for a big push in January 2012.

Making your comments on the discussion page will allow for transparency, progress and improvement.
