WIMBOTSHAM (St. Mary), a parish, in the union of Downham, hundred of Clackclose, W. division of Norfolk, 1¼ mile (N. by E.) from Downham. 
Wimbotsham St Mary is an Ancient parish in theFincham deanery of the Diocese of Norwich.
A Norman carrstone church with subsequent Victorian renovations.
The modern parish is part of the Fincham and Feltwell deanery of the Diocese of Ely .
