Western Canadian Directories on microfiche and microfilm, compiled by Dave Obee, (Second Edition, Victoria, BC, 2001).

British Columbia 1871: A list of residents based on the work of Edward Mallandaine by Dave Obee (From Mallandaine's 1871 directory. (Dave Obee, 2005).

The Peel Collection, including some directories, based on A Bibliography of the Prairie Provinces to 1953 by Bruce Braden Peel, is available at some libraries on microfiche.

The University of British Columbia has microfilmed many British Columbia directories. These films are available at some libraries.

Many British Columbia directories up to and including 1900 are available on the following microfiche set:

  • Pre-1900 Canadian Directories.( Ottawa, Ontario: Canadian Institute for Historical Microreproductions, 1988). The Canadian Institute for Historical Microreproductions is now Canadiana.org.  (On 4219 Family History Library fiche beginning with fiche 6360453. These fiche do not circulate to Family History Centers.)
