History

Parent County

1809--Caldwell County was created 31 January 1809 from Livingston County.
County seat: Princeton [2]

Boundary Changes

Was formed from Livingston County in 1809. Before that, modern-day Caldwell County was part of Christian, Logan, and Lincoln Counties--Lincoln County being one of the three original counties in Kentucky.  

Record Loss

The courthouse fire on 15 Dec 1864 destroyed some records
