Bible Records
- The Georgia Department of Archives and History has many volumes of Bible records that have been collected by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Those that were transcribed from 1938 to 1948 are at the Family History Library; FHL films 006975-84)
- DAR Bible records for Georgia were filmed at the DAR Library in Washington, DC, and are at the Family History Library FHL films 848574-75.
- More Bible transcripts are found in the DAR collection mentioned in the "Georgia Genealogy" article.
- Some of these DAR records are indexed in E. Kay Kirkham, An Index to Some of the Family Records of the Southern States. (Logan, Utah: Everton Publishers, 1979) At various libraries (WorldCat); FHL microfiche 6089183; book Ref 973 D22kk Volume 1
- Another collection of original Bible records at the Georgia Department of Archives and History was microfilmed in 1959 and is at the Family History Library on films 204483-88 including the surnames Murphy, Jackson, Edmunds, Milikin, Colquitt, Groover, Martin, McNulty, Easton, Yonge, Candler, Jamison, Hill, Burkhalter, Lundy, Ellis, Crawford, Foster, Davis.
- An important published book of Bible transcripts is Jeannette Holland Austin, Georgia Bible Records (Baltimore, Maryland: Genealogical Publishing Company, 1985) At various libraries (WorldCat); FHL book 975.8 D2a
Copies, or abstracts of old family Bibles that are no longer known to exist, may survive in Revolutionary War Pension application files at NARA, Washington, D.C., which are available online at three commercial websites: Ancestry, Footnote, and Heritage Quest Online.
