Collection Description

The Maryland State Archives is the repository for records of Maryland State, county and municipal government. The Archives also holds special collections of maps, newspapers, religious records, and private papers.[2] Births 1654-1924[3];marriages 1640-1997[4]; deaths from counties 1654-1991, from Baltimore City 1875-1994[5]; divorces, adoptions, census, city directories, cemetery, church records, courts, criminal, land, immigration, naturalization, plats, probates, taxation, biographies, newspapers, and periodicals.[2]
