The 1868 voter's registrations of South Carolina are not indexed, however, individuals are listed alphabetically by county and precinct. These microfilmed records list male African-Americans and whites separately. For those with African-American ancestry, this is a valuable record in trying to find documentation on an ancestor prior to 1870. Others with the same surname may also be listed.
These records are on microfilm at the South Carolina Department of Archives
