If you cannot visit or find a record at the Worcester County, Maryland Register of Wills, a similar record may be available at one of the following.

  • Maryland State Archives, Annapolis, has probate records from as early as 1634.[3]
  • Family History Library, Salt Lake City, has various books and microfilms of Somerset and Worcester County probate records from 1664 to about 1852.
  • Worcester County, Maryland, Orphans' Court -
  • neighboring county registers of wills and orphans' courts - may have probate records of Worcester County citizens whose wills were probated nearby. For example, prior to 1742 people living in what is now Worcester were part of Somerset County.
