Blue check.png This page documents a guideline. It is a generally accepted standard that contributors should attempt to follow, though it is best treated with common sense and the occasional exception.

Any substantive edit to this page should reflect consensus. When in doubt, discuss first on the talk page.

Articles that set out the outline or a summary of the main points from a presentation, lecture, or course of study related to genealogy are encouraged to be added to the Research Wiki.

As these articles often relate to an event but include recommend practise that may over time time change, the question has been raised whether these articles should be update with the latest information. This matter having been discussed in the Contributors Meeting it has been decided that an article that covers a syllabus should remain as given, a new article can be created with the latest information and the out of date original syllabus marked with the template {{Superseded}}
