What is your favorite way to find new family history websites about England? One of my favourite ways is to check Peter Christian’s The Genealogist’s Internet. This bestseller, now in its fifth edition, is authored by a Fellow of the Society of Genealogists (FSG). The great thing is, you don’t even have to purchase the book to benefit from Christian’s outstanding research – he lists all of his links in the book on his website for free! Here’s a short tutorial to walk you through the site.
The website address is http://www.spub.co.uk/tgi5/index.php. Click “Links.”
Select a chapter. In this example, we’ll view “Church Records:”
Mr. Christian helps you stay up-to-date on which sites are “Gone” or have “Moved” since the release of the previous edition of his book.
“The World of Family History” chapter is fascinating. Christian explores topics such as popular blogs that carry English family history news, genealogy courses, events, and societies.
So why would you buy Peter Christian’s book? The truth is, you don’t have to. But if you do, inside its covers, you’ll find detailed explanations of how each site will benefit your family history research. The Genealogist’s Internet is available through Amazon. Have fun exploring the website!
