During the month of June, the Family History Library will be hosting a number of family history classes and a cultural open house. Classes and events are free to the public. Information about specific classes is listed below, as well as information on how to register for specific classes.
June 7: Cómo Organizar su Genealogia. A course for Spanish-speaking patrons. The class starts at 1:00 p.m.
June 20: Cultural Open House. Discover the heritage and traditions of the Polynesian islands and people, the importance of knowing your own heritage, and how the Family History Library can help you preserve and share your own story. There will be refreshments, Ukulele sing-a-long, Poi Ball, Hula, and Haka instructions. Storytelling, displays, and commemorative photo ops. Limited free parking. Open house will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. No registration needed.
June 21: Civil War Research Series. The topics include “Beginning Your Civil War Research,” “Civil War Internet Sites,” and “Sources for Post-Civil War Records.” Classes run from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
June 21: Encontrando a Nuestros Primos. A course for Spanish-speaking patrons. The class starts at 1:00 p.m.
June 21: Boy Scout Genealogy Merit Badge Workshop. Starts at 10:00 a.m. To register for this 90-minute class and to find out which requirements should be completed before the workshop, call 1-801-240-4673.
June 23-27: Scottish Research Series. A series of 10 classes will be offered. Two classes will be held each day beginning at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. For additional information on classes taught each day, go to https://familysearch.org/locations/library_class_schedule.
June 28: German Research Series. Three classes will be offered sequentially. The topics include “U. S. Immigration Sources,” “German Emigration Sources Part I,” and “German Emigration Sources Part II.” The first class starts at 9:15 a.m.
