As part of our on-going improvements to the FamilySearch Catalog, we will soon be providing links from the FamilySearch catalog entries to the same entries in the OCLC WorldCat. OCLC will also provide a link back to the FamilySearch Catalog. This will be a huge benefit to family history researchers who are trying to gain access to out-of-print or otherwise hard-to-find books.
Where to Find the Links
In the new catalog, the link to WorldCat is located near the bottom of the catalog entry.
In the old catalog, the link is in a field labelled “OCLC Number.”

If you were to click the OCLC link, the WorldCat entry looks like this. The link back to the Family History Library is towards the bottom:

Other Ways to Find Catalog Items
If a record has been indexed and is available to be searched, you can go to it from the online catalog.
If a book has been scanned and is available in the FamilySearch books search, you can go directly to it.
