Today is Mother’s Day. How wonderful that Moms get at least one day a year in which we take a moment to stop and say thank you for all you’ve done and acknowledge them for the heroes they truly are. Looking at all the things that mothers have to do to raise their kids, we ought to be giving them special recognition 365 days a year rather than 1 day a year.
We recognize all you do for us and we understand that for the most part, being a mom is no easy matter. Kids don’t come with an owner’s manual. There are no easy to follow step by step instructions on how raise a child. If you are lucky, you may be one of the few younger mothers who has an older, wiser, more experienced mom to mentor you and help you find that balance between being overly indulging and overly severe with discipline. They will teach you how to develop that 6th sense that helps you read a child’s mind. They will teach you how to know when your child is in trouble, even if he or she lives 1,500 miles away. They will show you how to see through walls so you can know what your children are doing 3 rooms away.
We know that mothers are not perfect, but we love you. We think that you are God’s gift to humanity. Thank you for all you do. You are worthy of a national holiday.
