There have been some exciting developments in the department recently. We have promised Church members some new tools to help them carry out their responsibility of identifying and taking names to the temple for their ancestors. Two new high profile products that are already available to some members include the Photos and Stories feature, which is a part of the FamilySearch website and the My Family booklet. Both of these products have the potential of having a very big impact on members of the Church and others who use our products.
As employees of the Family History Department, we must remember that we are ambassadors of this department and of the Church. We will have opportunities to tell others about these tools and share them with friends, neighbors and with members of our wards and stakes. As ambassadors, it will be important that we speak with a unified voice, sharing only correct information about these tools.
To help you understand the message the department wants to focus on, you will soon see a new Ambassador Kit which has been created by our department’s Human Resource Division. This Ambassador Kit will provide a few key points of interest about each product, how they can used within local units of the Church, and a few suggestions of what you can do as an ambassador to promote these products.
Keep your ears open for dates and places when Ambassador training will be available. We look forward to sharing this information with all of our Family History Department employees and missionaries. We want to help each of you be the best possible ambassador for this great work.
