Last week, we mentioned a website called BillionGraves.com. BillionGraves encourages anyone with an iPhone/Android camera to download their app and use it to capture images of gravestones from cemeteries throughout the world. These images can then be uploaded to the internet where volunteers will extract the information from the images. This information is then used to create an index that can be used free of charge by anyone who visits the BillionGraves website. This information will also be found on FamilySearch.org.
On the BillionGraves website there is a short, one-minute video clip that provides an easy-to-follow overview of how their program works. To view this video, go to the BillionGraves home page and click on the video box. We think you will find their message motivating and be encouraged by the simplicity of this work.
