This year is nearly over and 2014 is looking us in the eyes. A lot of things happened to us this past year. Many of those events will be remembered with a smile because of the great memories they created for us. But for some, 2013 will be memorable for another reason. It will be the year we lost someone we loved; a friend, a family member or someone we knew and appreciated.
In the New York Times magazine’s annual The Lives They Lived issue, the public is invited to submit a photograph and a memory of a friend or loved one close to them who died in 2013. To submit a memory and picture of someone who died this year, click the link to New York Times: The Lives They Lived page and then click the Share a Story link for details. But you have to hurry because this year’s deadline for submitting is tomorrow, December 27th. Sorry it’s such notice but a friend just introduced me to this site today. But even if you miss it, take a few minutes and read some of the memorials. It’s worth the time simply to read the tender memories that are being shared. You don’t want to miss this.
