Lisa Louise Cooke – Genealogy Gems Podcast
Lisa is the producer and host of the Genealogy Gems Podcast, an online genealogy audio show at GenealogyGems.com. She got started with genealogy during a visit to her grandmother’s home when she was about 10 years old. She discovered some old photo albums and starting quizzing her grandmother who answered all her questions and encouraged her to learn more. Lisa’s favorite thing about podcasting is the personal connection with her listeners. Some of her favorite tech tools to use for genealogy are the Google Tools, with Google Earth topping the list. The farthest she’s traveled in the name of family history research is Huntingdonshire, England. Lisa has contributed here at TechTips. Read Lisa’s full bio at rootstech.org/bloggers.
Sue Maxwell – Granite Genealogy
Sue is the genealogist and blogger behind Granite Genealogy. She got started with genealogy as a child by making copies of her family’s handwritten and typed pedigree charts and family group sheets. It drew her in and she’s had the bug ever since. Sue says the best word that describes her is tenacious. If she could be given any gift it would be the fountain of youth and if she could have one superpower, it would be the gift of healing. When she’s not doing genealogy, she likes to spend time with her five granddaughters and travel with friends. Read Sue’s full bio at rootstech.org/bloggers.
Nancy Shively – Gathering Stories
Nancy is the creator and author of the Gathering Stories blog and says that she has a love/hate relationship with her keyboard as writing is her favorite and least favorite thing about blogging. Nancy got started with genealogy when she moved to a small town a few years ago and discovered by accident that her maternal grandparents had lived in the same town in the early 1920’s. It made her wonder what else she didn’t know about her family. Nancy says that she never met a tech tool she didn’t like but that the greatest invention in her lifetime is the smartphone. Her biggest pet peeve is obnoxiously loud television commercials. Read Nancy’s full bio at rootstech.org/bloggers.
