1. Insert your thumb drive.
2. Select drive D: where your thumb drive appears.
3. Select the folder where you want the photos to be saved.
NOTE: To create a new folder on your thumb drive complete the following steps.
- Open the thumb drive.
- Right-click in the window to open the menu.
- Click New.
- To create a new folder, click Folder.
4. Turn on the FastFoto Scanner by pressing the power button.
Note: The power button is the top button on the face of the scanner represented by a circle with a vertical line through the top half of the circle. A blue light appears when the unit is on.
5. To run the program, double-click the blue FastFoto icon.
6. In the right-hand corner, select Settings.
7. In the left side menu, click Organization.
- To Browse for Folder, click the yellow folder icon.
- Select the folder where you want to save your images.
- Click OK.
- In the File Name Prefix field, type a prefix to name your photos.
8. Uncheck the box next to Prompt me to describe each batch of photos before scanning.
9. In the left side menu, click Enhancements.
10. Apply the following enhancements to all scans by checking the boxes:
- Auto Enhance
- Remove Red Eye
- Restore Faded Colors
11. Apply the following enhancements:
- Click the To a second copy of the photo (recommended) prompt.
Note: Most guests select this feature to save two copies of the photo: the original and the enhanced. The enhanced image will have the letter a appended to its file name.
12. Click OK.
13. Load the photos into the input tray face up with the top end feeding through first. Gently slide the photos into the scanner until they meet resistance.
14. In the upper left corner, click Start Scanning. The Describe Your Photos window appears.
15. If desired, enter a Year, Month or Season, and Subject. Otherwise, leave the fields blank.
16. Uncheck Create a subfolder for this batch of pictures.
17. Click Start Scanning.
18. When the batch is complete, a window prompt appears.
- To add more photos and continue scanning, reload the scanner and click Scan Next Batch.
- If you have completed scanning, click Done Scanning. Your photos are saved to the folder previously designated.
19. Once the photos have been saved, close the program and eject your thumb drive.
