Attach to Family Tree from Explore Historical Images

Before you start

Attach to Family Tree from an image in Explore Historical Images lacks a search function. Here are ways that you prepare to find ancestors and attach images as sources:

  • Open Family Tree in a separate tab or window
  • Copy the Family Tree ID of a person for whom you want to find record images.

  1. Open the image in Explore Historical Images.
  2. In the top-right of the image viewer, click Attach to Tree.
  3. Enter a Source Title. Add notes. If you want the record in your source box, click in the small box. Click Next.
  4. Enter a Family Tree ID and then click the magnifying glass icon. To select the person, click the circle to the left of the name. Or click a name on the list of recently viewed people.
  5. Click Next.
  6. To select additional members of the family, click the boxes.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Enter a reason that the source is a match and click Attach to Tree.
