How do I attach sources from MyHeritage to Family Tree?

To attach MyHeritage sources to Family Tree, access MyHeritage from the link on the Person page. If you start the search from My Heritage rather than from FamilySearch.org, you cannot attach the sources to a person in Family Tree.

Steps (website)

  1. While signed in to FamilySearch.org, navigate to the Person page of an ancestor.
  2. Click the Details tab.
  3. In the Search Records box on the right, click MyHeritage.
  4. Click OK. 
  5. Sign in to MyHeritage, if needed.
  6. Click your ancestor's name in the MyHeritage search results.
  7. Review the information.
  8. Scroll to the bottom of the record page, and in the lower left portion of the screen, click Attach source to FamilySearch. 
  9. The source entry for FamilySearch.org appears with all fields auto-populated, except the reason statement.
  10. Add your reason statement. 
  11. In "Select the Information or Events in this Source," click the box to the left of each item in the source.
  12. If you do not want the source in your Source Box, click to uncheck the box.
  13. Click Save.

Steps (mobile app)

  1. Tap the individual to whom you want to attach a source. 
  2. In the top-right corner of the screen, tap the 3 menu dots.
  3. Tap Search Records. 
  4. Tap MyHeritage.com.
  5. Tap Search or OK.
  6. The website opens in a browser.
  7. Sign in to MyHeritage, if needed.
  8. Tap your ancestor's name in the MyHeritage search results.
  9. Review the information.
  10. Scroll to the bottom of the record page, and in the lower left portion of the screen, tap Attach source to FamilySearch. 
  11. The source entry for FamilySearch.org appears with all fields auto-populated, except the reason statement.
  12. Add your reason statement. 
  13. In "Select the Information or Events in This Source," tap the box to the left of each item in the source.
  14. If you do not want the source in your Source Box, tap to uncheck the box.
  15. Tap Save.

Steps (Family Tree Lite)

Family Tree Lite does not include the Sources feature. To attach records from MyHeritage, visit the full website.
