Compare-a-Face is a FamilySearch discovery activity that compares pictures of you with pictures of your ancestors and then tells you which ancestor you most resemble. You choose the photograph that you want to use. The activity compares the photograph with the photographs attached to your ancestors' listed in Family Tree (up to six generations). The photograph you use is saved to the activity and will be there the next time you open the activity. The system does not save your photograph as a Memory. Other users cannot see it. You can delete your photograph at any time.

Troubleshooting
- The match is to an ancestor of the opposite sex. The system matches facial features and can match to ancestors of the opposite sex.
- The match is to the wrong version of an ancestor's photo. Compare-a-Face experience matches your photo to the portrait photos of an ancestor. The system does not look at all the photos on FamilySearch for the person. Poor quality photos affect the results. When an ancestor's portrait photo is a tombstone, the system matches against the tombstone photo. You can solve this problem:
- Upload a different photo of the ancestor, as described in step 6. Then compare that photo to your photo.
- Change the ancestor's portrait photo. Then run the comparison again.
