How do I remove someone from a family group?

Group administrators can remove someone from a family group.

If you remove someone from a group, and if that group has a family group tree, that person's tree record remains in the group tree.

Steps (website)

  1. On FamilySearch.org, click your name.
  2. Select Family Groups.
  3. Click the family group.
  4. Click the Group Members button.
  5. On the list of group members, find the member to remove.
  6. Click .
  7. Click the Remove option.
  8. Click Remove.

Steps (mobile app)

  1. In the Family Tree mobile app, tap the 3 lines icon—lower right on Apple iOS; upper left on Android.
  2. Tap Family Groups.
  3. Find the group and tap View Group.
  4. Swipe the name you want to remove to the left.
  5. Tap Remove.
  6. Tap Remove again on the pop-up message.
