To share access to living and confidential people in Family Tree, create a family group tree:
- Create a family group, and turn on the option to add a family group tree.
- Create the family group tree. Make sure the family group tree contains a profile for all of the users who need to access it.
- Invite users into the group.
Here are some tips as you work with family group trees:
- Each user can keep the living and confidential people in both a private tree (the FamilySearch Tree) and in family group trees. The family group tree will contain a copy with a different ID.
- The copy in the family group tree will be visible to all group members. The private one remains visible only to the user who created it.
- When you change one copy, the change does not get automatically made to the other.
- After a person dies, family members should:
- Add the death information to their private record.
- Add the death information to the shared copy in the family group tree.
- Merge the duplicates.
