Using a Church Account with FamilySearch

Church members can sign into the FamilySearch website and mobile apps using their Church accounts. Having another options is helpful when you forget your FamilySearch username and password and no longer have the email or mobile phone number that you used when setting up your FamilySearch account.

Church accounts and FamilySearch accounts are different accounts. Members can use both accounts to get into FamilySearch.

If you delete your FamilySearch account that contains your Church membership number, you can still access your Family Tree data with your Church account.

Steps (website)

  1. Go to familysearch.org.
  2. In the upper-right corner, click Sign In.
  3. Under Sign In With, click Continue with Church Account.
  4. Enter your username, and click Next.
  5. Enter your password, and click Verify.
  6. If prompted for two-factor authentication, check your mobile phone for the code. Enter the code, and click Continue.

Steps (mobile apps)

  1. Open the Family Tree or Memories mobile app.
  2. Under Sign In With, tap Continue with Church Account.
  3. Enter your username, and tap Next.
  4. Enter your password, and tap Verify.
  5. If prompted for two-factor authentication, check your mobile phone for the code. Enter the code, and click Continue.
