Using the improved person change log

Share

Understanding what changes have been made by whom is an important part of using Family Tree, especially when you find errors to correct.

In October 2024, we released a new Merge Analysis tool to help you figure out how a person's information changed as the result of a merge. With the improved person change log experiment, we are testing more improvements to the change log in Family Tree.

A comparison of the regular vs the improved change log

The regular person change log displays what the Details tab shows, regardless of whether it was different in the past.

The improved person change log displays the person's name, birth year, death year, and sex as they were recorded right before the change happened.
