How do I find out who else is following a person in Family Tree?

In Family Tree, you can see a list of other users who follow a person, and send the users a FamilySearch message.

Other followers are often relatives or others who have been doing research about the person.

Steps (website)

From Family Tree

  1. From the FamilySearch homepage, click Family Tree, and then click Following.
  2. Click the 3 vertical dots to the right of the person's name.
  3. Then, click the option that identifies how many users are following that person.
  4. A pop-up box shows who is following that person.
  5. To send a FamilySearch message, click the user's name.

If the 3 vertical dots are not visible next to the person's name, click the Options tab. Then, under View By, click Person. The 3 vertical dots are visible next to each person in the Following list.

Steps (mobile app)

The Family Tree mobile app does not display your Following list. In the app, the list of recent changes can substitute for the Following list if you cannot use the website.

  1. In the Family Tree mobile app, tap a person to open the profile.
  2. Tap the 3 dots option in the upper-right corner.
  3. Tap More.
  4. Tap Recent Changes.

Steps (Family Tree Lite)

FamilySearch Lite cannot display a list of the people you are following. Please use the website instead.
