ARBORFIELD (St. Bartholomew), is a parish, in the union of Wokingham, hundred of Sonning,and county of Berkshire, it is 5 miles S. E. from Reading. The village of Arborfield Cross, is about a mile from the church, it is partly in this parish, and partly in that of Hurst. 
Birth, marriages and deaths were kept by the government, from July 1837 to the present day. The civil registration article tells more about these records. There are several Internet sites with name lists or indexes. A popular site is FreeBMD.
