Created in 1835 the Christchurch Poor Law Union, which was later renamed the Bournemouth and Christchurch Poor Law Union, consisted of the following parishes
- Hinton Admiral
- Bournemouth from 1894
- Christchurch East from 1894
- Hurn from 1894
- Pokesdown from 1894
- Southbourne from 1894
- Winton from 1894
- Highcliffe from 1897
In 1900 it was replaced by the Bournemouth Poor Law Union
and the Christchurch Poor Law Union
