Brief History

Caratunk is a town in Somerset County, Maine. It was first organized as a plantation from Township Number 1 Third Range Bingham's Kennebec Purchase, East of Kennebec River (T1 R3 BKP EKR) in 1840. In 1977 it was organized into a town from the plantation.[1]
