Cemetery Records of Evansville, Vanderburgh County, IndianaEdit This Page

Interments in two of the largest cemeteries (Oak Hill and Locust Hill) in Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana, have been compiled into databases accessible at http://www.evansvillegov.org/cemeteries/. These databases were compiled from cemetery records and do not necessarily include every person buried in these cemeteries or even all persons with a tombstone in one of these cemeteries.
At this website select a cemetery under "Search Database" and type in the search box the surname that is to be searched. Note that the search engine requires exact spelling of a surname.
A large amount of data of value to genealogists may be given for an individual in the database. The following data fields are present although not all fields may contain data.
Last Name, First Name, Middle (Name), Title, Nickname, Bur No (Burial Number), Section, Row, Lot, GR (Grave), Mausoleum, Crypt, DIA (Diagonal), Place of Death, Age, Date of Death, Date of Interment, Sex, Place of Birth, Cause of Death, Race, Undertaker, Social State (Single, Married, Widowed), Vault, Medical Att (Attending physician), Comments, Nearest Relative, Veteran, FLAG.
Data found may be copied and pasted into a Word-processing document.
