CLAVERING, is a parish and a hundred in Essex. The parish is in Saffron-Walden district; it lies on the west border of the county, it is 3½ miles SW of Newport railway station, and 6½ miles SW by S of Saffron-Walden; it has a post office under Bishops-Stortford. There is and Independent chapel, and a Primitive Methodist chapel.
