FamilySearch Indexing: US (Community Project), New York—County Naturalization Card Index, 1792–1976, FAQEdit This Page
From FamilySearch Wiki
How does one index the following: US District Court New York, New York
City of Naturalization is New York, is this not correct?
County of Naturalization would then be Blank am I correct here too?
When my batches are returned, some Arbitrator is changing this to read New York as the County with the City of Naturalization Blank.
No where in the above does it mention county so how does one assume the second New York is the county rather than the state. When I see New York, New York I see City of New York, State of new York not county of New York.
This question also pertains to Brooklyn which has also been changed to read City of naturalization Blank, County of Naturalization Brooklyn. Brooklyn is not a county it is a borough only.
