Sales Force

Our source of images to be placed in the Wiki from the contributors and patrons of the FamilySearch Wiki come to us in Salesforce.

After you sign in you can use the drop down under the FamilySearch icon to the upper left of the page to go into the Service Cloud Console if you are not already there. There are 8 options on the drop down but we will only be covering the Cases.

Go to the second down just under the FamilySearch Icon and click. there are 8 click on the Cases.


Let us look at the 5 drop downs in the Cases drop down box.

Support-Wiki Image/Doc approval- This is where we review and approve images and files submitted to the Wiki.
  • Now let us cover the steps in working a case and go over several cases.

Support-Wiki Image/Doc approval

First- Click on the Support-Wiki Image/Doc en key. This will bring up the image approval cases.
Second- Click on the case number you want to look at, you need to decide if this is even a image approval case for our group, a few are not. Go back to Saleforce Support Cases to get detailed information on how to transfer any case to other Users or Queues.
Third- is this appropriate for the Wiki, and is all the needed information here. (Copyright, date, author, and description.)

Putting the image in the Wiki

A. Click on the Blue name of the image. This will give you the opportunity to bring this image into your computer. To view it to see if it is appropriate. Then you can put it in a location in your computer were you can bring it back up.
B. Next go to Upload this can be found on Special pages under toolbox on the navigation bar at the right on each page of the Wiki. Then click browse. When your computer search comes up click on the correct image and then click save on your computer search box this puts the image on to the upload page.
C. Next you put the Template:Information/doc on the page in the summary box and fill it out with the information from the patron's case.
D. Next select the copyright level on the copyright drop down and click it. It will then appear on the image page.
E. Now select save. This will bring up the page of the image. Add a Category. This could be a location or topic of the page.
F. Copy the URL for the image page and use the URL in the reply to the patron. Click on email to do this.

Thank you for submitting the image of (Name of image) to the FamilySearch Wiki. The image has been approved and can be found at (Place URL of the page of the image.

Email to Patron (Not approved)

Thank you for submitting the image of (Name of image) to the FamilySearch Wiki. The image has not been approved because (Reason). The following page Image Approval Policies may help you to see why this is not appropriate for the FamilySearch Wiki.

Email to Patron (Un-Answered Questions)

Accept the Case- If this is a case for the Wiki Support team. Do this at any stage after you decide it is acceptable and before you close the case. Which you do by clicking on Change status of case.
