Technical Issues & Workarounds

  • We have been discussing on forums the fact that the advanced search is a little complicated and might make new users a little confused. We are thinking of two solutions and wondering if it would require engineering.
  1. Hide the advanced search and have it pop open when you click an Advanced Search link, which will be at the bottom of the box in the Search Learning and How-to's box in the search results.
  2. When that does pop open, have the search terms and Advanced Search button at the top. Randyhoffman 16:28, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
  • Janell has a wonderful idea to add a link to the user sandbox under Personal tools, linking to "Special:MyPage/Sandbox" Will that require engineering as well. Randyhoffman 16:28, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
  • The Greene County, Tennessee page has a problem under Populated Places in Firefox - this has been reported, do you have an update? janellv
