FamilySearch Wiki talk:Fixing Classic FamilySearch.org LinksEdit This Page
From FamilySearch Wiki
I'm curious about how to best/accurately handle references to the IGI. The instructions on this page say to link to Historical Records. But isn't the IGI more like Family Trees than Historical Records? Mentions of and links to Ancestral File and Pedigree Resource File should also be removed/updated, too, right? The IGI was made up of two sets of records - temple records, and historical records. The temple records part of the IGI was lineage-linked (a tree) and the historical records part of it was based on the indexing of names in specific areas. Those are location-based instead of family-based.
And yes, you are right, links to Ancestral File and PRF should be updated as well. We are working on all the 3000 broken links trying to get this done by the end of theis year. Hope to get to other areas as soon as possiblr. Sandralpond 18:49, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
