Record Description

This collection will include records from 1960-2013.

The records include a collection of naturalization and citizenship-related records from the District Court in Pati, Central Java, Indonesia. The records include the following documents:

  • Kewarganegaraan Indonesia (Citizenship records)
  • Permohonan Ahli Waris (Heir applications)
  • Permohonan Akte Kelahiran (Birth certificate applications)
  • Permohonan Perceraian (Petitions for divorce)
  • Permohonan S.B.K.R.I (Applications for citizenship)

Immigration to Indonesia also took place at this time when huge populations from the Indian subcontinent visited the country and settled there. Few settled in Victoria, and those who did were probably Dutch Indonesians. The Dutch rule over Indonesia, ended when the Japanese took over the country during World War II. The Netherlands controlled the Indonesian archipelago since the 19th century. For working in Indonesia, the foreigners have to send their application to the immigration office.

How to Use the Record

To begin your search in the records, it would be helpful if you knew some of the following information:

  • Name of ancestor
  • Approximate place and date of birth
  • Approximate year of other event (such as immigration or divorce)

Search the Collection

To search the collection images, select "Browse through images" on the initial collection page. Then:
⇒ Select the appropriate 'Record Type'
⇒ Select the 'Year and Number(s)' which takes you to the images.

Search the collection by image, comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine if the image relates to them. You may need to look at several images and compare the information about the individuals listed in those images to your ancestors to make this determination.

As you are searching, it is helpful to know such information as your ancestor’s given name and surname, as well as some identifying information such as residence and age, and family relationships. Remember that there may be more than one person in the records with the same name as your ancestor and that your ancestor may have used nicknames or different names at different times.

Using the Information

When you have found the information that you are looking for, the following will help you further your research:

  • Use the age to calculate the year of birth
