Jarvis Brook St Michael was formed from the Ancient Parish of Rotherfield, Sussex and the present church dates from 1905 to replace a combined school and chapel of ease. The village is in the Wealden district of East Sussex.

There is a modern Kingdom's Hall of jehovah's Witnesses and Jarvis Brook Memorial Hall has been used as an Independent meeting place.
