  • 1st Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry (Union)
    Organized at Liberty, Burkeville and Monticello, Kentucky, October, 1861, and mustered in October 28, 1861.
    Veterans and recruits consolidated to a Battalion of 3 Companies and on duty at various points in Kentucky, operating against guerrillas and quieting country, until September, 1865. Mustered out September 20, 1865.
  • 1st Regiment, Kentucky Infantry (Union)
    First organized at Pendleton, Ohio, for three months April and May, 1861, but not recognized by Kentucky until June, when reorganized for three years. Duty at Pendleton, Ohio, April to July, 1861.
    Operations against Morgan's Invasion of Kentucky May 31-June 18. Mt. Sterling June 9. Mustered out June 18, 1864.
  • 2nd Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry (Union)
    Organized at Camp Joe Holt and Muldraugh's Hill, Kentucky, September 9, 1861, to February 13, 1862.
    Mustered out at Camp Joe Holt, Kentucky, July 9-27, 1865.
  • 2nd Regiment, Kentucky Infantry (Union)
    Organized at Pendleton, Ohio May and June, 1861.
    Ordered home June 3. Operations against Morgan in Kentucky until June 19. Mt. Sterling June 9. Mustered out June 19, 1864.
  • 3rd Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry (Union)
    Organized in Calhoun and McLean Counties, Kentucky, December 13, 1861.
    Surrender of Johnston and his army. Duty at Lexington, North Carolina, and in the Dept. of North Carolina until July. Mustered out July 15, 1865.
  • 4th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry (Union)
    Organized at Louisville, Kentucky, December 24, 1861.
    Capture of Macon April 20. Duty at Macon and in the Dept. of Georgia until August. Mustered out August 21, 1865.
  • 5th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry (Union)
    Organized at Columbus, Kentucky, December, 1861, to February, 1862, and mustered in at Gallatin, Tennessee, March 31, 1862.
    Surrender of Johnston and his army. Mustered out May 3, 1865.
  • 6th Regiment, Kentucky Infantry (Union)
    Organized at Sigel, Muldraugh's Hill and Shepherdsville, Kentucky, September 9 to December 24, 1861.
    Ordered to Louisville, Kentucky, Mustered out September 23, 1864, to January 2, 1865.
  • 7th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry (Union)
    Organized at large and mustered in at Paris, Kentucky, August 16, 1862.
    Duty at Macon until June and at Nashville, Tennessee until July. Mustered out July 10, 1865.
  • 7th Regiment, Kentucky Infantry (Union)
    "One of the first Recruited in the State. Old 3rd." Organized at Camp Dick Robinson, Kentucky, September 22, 1861.
    At Baton Rouge until May 1, 1865, and at Clinton until March, 1866. Mustered out March 11, 1866.
  • 8th Regiment, Kentucky Infantry (Union)
    Organized at Estill Springs and Lebanon, Kentucky, October, 1861.
    At Bridgeport, Alabama, until January, 1865. Mustered out February, 1865. Veterans and Recruits transferred to 4th Kentucky Mounted Infantry.

    Organized at Covington, Lexington and Crab Orchard, Kentucky, for one year's service, September 8 to November 11, 1862.
    Expedition from Beaver Creek into Southwest Virginia July 3-11, 1863. Gladesville, Virginia, July 7. Regiment mustered out September 17, 1863.

    Moved to Ringgold, Georgia, thence to Chattanooga, Tennessee, and duty there until November. Ordered to Kentucky November 14. Mustered out December 6, 1864.

    Near Rheatown, Duvall's Ford, Watauga River, September 30. Consolidated with 12th Kentucky Cavalry October 15, 1864.

    Organized at Russellsville, Kentucky, April 25, 1865.
    Assigned to duty at Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and in Southern Kentucky, along Louisville & Nashville Railroad. Mustered out September 20, 1865.
