Manitoba Online Search for Vital StatisticsEdit This Page

From FamilySearch Wiki

Registration of births, marriages and deaths began in 1882. If you are looking for an ancestor during the last 100 years in Manitoba, search an online index for a reference to his or her birth, marriage or death. The Vital Statistics database contains the following types of information.

  • Births more than 100 years ago
  • Marriages more than 80 years ago
  • Deaths more than 70 years ago

Birth certificates show the name of the child, date and place of birth, gender, and registration date number. Birth certificates for married women are issued in the maiden name. Certificates are issued in two sizes. The larger size contains the same information as the smaller one, plus the names of the parents.

Marriage certificates show the names and birth places of the bride and groom, date and place of marriage, and the registration date and number.

Death certificates show the name of the deceased, gender, date and place of death, registration date and number.

For each certified copy or photographic print issued for unrestricted records, if the client searches the records and identifies the registration by its electronic registration number the cost is only $12.00.

Certificates can be ordered from the Vital Statistics Agency in Manitoba.
