Margaretting, is a village and a parish in Chelmsford district, Essex. The village stands on the river Wid, adjacent to the Eastern Counties railway, 2 miles NE of Ingatestone, and 5 miles SW by S of Chelmsford; and has a post office under Ingatestone.
Margaretting St Margaret is an Ancient Parish in Essex. The 15th century St Margaret's church is situated about a mile from the village.
The village and civil parish are within Chelmsford Borough and nearby settlements of Ingatestone and the hamlet of Margaretting Tye.
