The information in this list of Missouri Military Units comes from the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors web site (CWSS). That web site can also be searched by the name of a soldier.

  • 1st Regiment, Missouri Cavalry - Confederate
    Mustered in: 1st Cavalry Regiment was formed during summer of 1861.
    Mustered out: The small command surrendered with the Department of Alabama, Mississippi, and East Louisiana.
  • 1st Regiment, Missouri Infantry - Confederate
    Mustered in at Rolla, Missouri, in August, 1861.
    Combined with another company. Exchanged and assigned to General Cockrell's Brigade, the 1st was consolidated with the 4th Missouri Regiment.

Regiments 2nd

  • 2nd Regiment, Missouri Cavalry - Confederate
    Mustered in: 2nd Cavalry Regiment was organized at Springfield, Missouri, during the late fall of 1861 as a battalion.
    Mustered out:Many were captured at Selma and few surrendered with the Department of Alabama, Mississippi, and East Louisiana.
